Also included is one letter to him from his brother, Private John H. Moore of the 1st (West) Virginia Infantry Regiment dated January 19, 1862, concerning the Blue Gap Affair. Other letters from their parents allude to John's service and to occurrences in the vicinity of Wheeling, particularly in May, 1863.
